Iceland, a place full of myths, miracles and fairytales. Mighty forces are dozing underneath the barren valley of Haukadalur. A Geysir, so graceful, letting you stand in awe to the power of nature. Its name is Strokkur, the namesake of KMA Audio Machines' Germanium Treble- to Full-Range Booster.
Strokkur is KMA Audio Machines' approach of the iconic Arbiter Dallas Rangemaster, well known for his power an exploding harmonics when pushing an almost breaking up tube amp. Strokkur is equipped with hand-selected NOS AC125 Tungsram transistors. The four controls set Strokkur apart from common treble boosters. Its RANGE control lets you choose between the classic treble booster sound and a full range boost fully cranked, giving you a meaty sound with tight low mids. The BOOST control doesn't need any explaination. We added a passive TREBLE and BASS control to fine-tune the sound. TREBLE taims the high frequencies and the transients (>2.4kHz) when the boost is fully cranked, which helps you to find the sweet spot of your amp on the fly. BASS helps to prevent the amp to get overloaded by lower frequencies (<240Hz), especially with humbucker guitars, but leaves the low mids untouched. Strokkur comes with an internal DC converter and works with every standard 9V DC supply. So plug in your guitar and feel the force of nature.
Every pedal is designed, assembled, silkscreened, tested and numbered by hand in our small workshop. We use doublesided PCBs which are designed, tested and assembled by ourselfs, to guarantee a high quality standard and keep the price of our pedals reasonable. The use of an indestructible powdercoated die-cast enclosure ensures a maximum durability.
